Desperate Metaphors, aka Please Eat Me

Certainly, I’m going to expect a measure of upset when I say that the idea of the vaginal monologues caused
all manner of unbidden images to arise.

A small mannish figure standing in front, not yelling ‘ricola’ but ‘Hellooo, helllooo, hellllooo’…. receiving no answer
saying, ‘damn, that’s deep,’ with the last words ‘…eep’ echoing endlessly.

Or three little bears popping out whispering, ‘Shhh, she’s still hibernating.’

Mostly what came to mind with the idea of the talking horn of plenty was ‘ok, who’s the ventriloquist’:
what maroon decided to perversely define themselves by identifying with what colloquially some women refer to as ‘Miss Thing,’ re: Addams Family.

I’m only guessing that one of these images would not endear me to the fierce and rabid.

Conversely, what guy would wish to be defined by a talking cock. Look what happened to Adam when Eve gobbled the apples.

Because you can define a metaphor that seems to work when you’re catering to desperate classes of individuals, indulgence
in doing so reflects a lack of integrity of aptness and significance that is completely obvious when it is caricatured.

You know: like, ‘Baa, baa black sheep, have you any wool, Miss’?

Or, you like flowers too much, hand-puppet. Recall that paper cut up and offered forward with fingers
stuck inside, mouthing ‘wah, wah’ as Charlie Brown’s teacher’s voice cries.

That’s your glove: no identifying characteristics, no sense of comfort or love. Just the camouflage of
denial amid a festival of accusation not open to rebuttal.

As if mystifying, something you can’t quite put your finger on.

But who’d settle for that dark penumbra over their heads like a damaged halo or suffocating cover not to protect or alter
anything, but to suffocate any dissent with a limping impediment guaranteed to establish a hindrance to exactly what it claims to desire removal.

An unholy dunce cap more suited to the complainant than the suggested defects of its focus, and in that a distracting
dialogue of broken tongues and cunnilingual displacement evoking the true hunger not named.

You know the last thing you ought to do is clam up like some wounded sea-lion flapping its gums, or Venus on the half shell come true, all silent and dumb.

The F.U. Society Assaults Itself

steel1
Always those who claim to be awake
to the machinations which once claimed
their eyes, specious cretins
simply could not stand the chaotic mess
of their own unholiness finally found
a place each could settle in unafraid
temporarily until the new fashions kick in
describing perspectives sieved out of merde
and disguises for the rich to be bribed
who in former times only would require
the cold hard cash of a world by numbers
now designed by idiots to be so inclusive
everyone’s abandoned the prize
of singularity to assume the podium

Where worship plies its dirty diatribe as
the tools of media raise up
truth as the equivalent of gossip, being
famous equal to significance while minor
deities involved in the exclusive province
of the arts decide each must join
by committee the conversation they had
never started, the followers
of extinction erasing history, denying
who suffered to what degree by opinion, not
informed expansive and learned perspective
in a whirlwind self-made by cowards
each inauthentic each incipiently Stalin
on a merry-go-round ride yelling, I’m not blind

‘Northern Cenci’… from Soliloquies Of The Horizons

“Your hair’s the gold that gold can be.”
I forget which Canadian poet said that; ominously wandering, until he became wild and suddenly lucid.

Across this Arctic landscape, you are with me.

*

You stand untouched, beneath the razor blades of trees; private as a fallen leaf, or storm, which none of us can endure.
The intensity so much they must seek shelter.

*

Behind you, the forest vanishes; animals fall back into the camouflage of green.
You are almost here.

*

What will you say when you speak?

Some Laboured

Some labored over the obscene
definitions and particulars
when the trapeze artist was not falling
but afloat in the sky Lucretius wrote

the machinations a breeze if Tacitus
ordered, which Cicero then described
but then who to decide
the imporntant, or significunt in a

slack society of drooling chins,
the bribes of the self-deceived
revolving around their own black hole
no longer circumscribed but defined

Lines Toward A New Language

Abandon the notion of style
that categories have more to say
that significance is engrained

the predominance of schoolyard
bullies, writing recognizable
the Breck girls’ chorus of vengeance regrets

not at all corrupt supporting
the least
similarity in structure and the stuttering

since all these dogs remain philosophers
desiring true believers, no brains
just blurbs manufactured by paid liars

the bribes publication, the tribe
writers following fashionably
the weave of experienced deceit

echoing, echoing not a sound
familiar flesh has not dropped
down just spread itself around for

the cannibal feast to celebrate
yet soon enough
bones grind like crisp fallen leaves

as each crackles it breaks
dust and ashes again
verisimilitude the same

language returns the liberty
each pretty fire a pleasant heat, which
colorful flames make of the defeat
